Tamarindo Beach Marathon 2010

On September 11^th, the Fourth Edition of the Tamarindo Beach Marathon 2010 will be held in Tamarindo. Athletes from all over Costa Rica, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Africa, and many other countries will be competing.  Approximately 2,000 competitors and 3,000 visitors are expected to be in Tamarindo during the race weekend.

The producer of this event is Global Sportx Group, and they would like to invite everyone in Tamarindo and the surrounding areas to participate in the marathon, as either runners, spectators, or volunteers. They encourage everyone from everywhere to be part of the event this year, whether it be during the race, before the race in the Expo, or after the race in the closing ceremony (which will also be an excellent party!). They want to show all the guests from out of town how much fun Tamarindo can be!

For those who who are new to running, a new 5k run has been incorporated, so everyone can get involved at whatever level they feel comfortable. Therefore, the races for TBM 2010’s distances are 5k, 10k, 21k, 30k, as well as a full marathon (42k). There are online training plans, and, if you want, during the race our guides (rabbits) will be running next to you to give advice and cheer you on.
