Have a Heart Golf Tournament 2012

The traditional “Heave a Heart” Golf Tournament met 55 golfers that participated this year at Hacienda Pinilla Golf Course.

Amigos de la Educación has been organizing this non- profit event each year since various years ago.

“We provide scholarships to 13 local youth – two in grade school, eight in highschool, and three in university. We also provide assistance in the form of books, building improvements, desks, teacher workshops, etc. to four highschools and seven elementary schools within a 30-kilometer radius of Tamarindo,” said Valerie XX from Amigos de la Educación.

“We haven't finished our collections yet, so I don't know what the total will be; but we are on track to reach or exceed last year's earnings of $25,000,” she added.

The first, second and third place winners all received engraved glass vases, plates, bowls or glasses as trophies.

First place team was: John Logan, Ricardo Cañas, Chad Fisher, and Joost Hauwert.
