Educarte: more than just a school

In pre-school, children learn many things, acquire habits, play, sing and are very happy because they are in a world of children.

Research on the biology of learning has shown that while the brain is plastic and education is a process that continues throughout life, there are times in which there are better conditions to learn. During the early years, in pre-school, the brain is like a window of opportunities; therefore, the social and cultural environments as well as the adequate stimulation provided by experts as to social-emotional and cognitive skills are of great importance. During this period, children are particularly sensitive to the development of basic skills.

The early experience of socialization is crucial for the further development of children. The experience is acquired in a pre-school educational center such as Educarte, which for three years has been observing for the education of children between 2 and 6 years old and has wide experience and a long trajectory.

For Maria Fernanda, it is not only about entertaining the children, but also about them learning and having fun at the same time, and more importantly, taking account their point of view and criteria.

"We meet the needs of children. We handle curriculum matters in accordance to specific projects that are based on what the calls the attention of children or on what they would like to know. At this stage of learning, the subject the children have chosen is then presented along with subjects such as math, languages and language skills, among others."

Educarte is a bilingual school concerned on providing the best education starting at an early age, so that when entering the elementary school, the adjustment process may be much simpler.

"They learn from a young age to socialize with other children their age. In fact, they go to first grade of school knowing how to read and write; something that is not very common."

Every step of learning goes hand in hand with arts, music and the importance of caring for the environment. "In the back garden of the Kinder, we did an orchard for the children to sow and harvest by themselves. We already started by planting some cucumber and tomatoes seeds. The parents are deeply involved. They bring fruit skins to be used as fertilizer.

Physical activity is also important and that is why Fridays were devoted to sports.
